In 2021, Joe moved to South Charlotte from Chicago to join Allen Tate Realtors® - Charlotte-Ballantyne. Joe and his wife, Bobbi Kelly , work closely together to give their clients exceptional service and achieve positive results. Joe is an avid swimmer and road cyclist and loves getting on his bike and going for long 50-100 mile rides. Each July, he participates in the Lymphoma & Leukemia Society's Scenic Shore 150 Mile Ride to support the many families affected by these diseases. On February 1, 2019, our luxury townhome of twenty-four years went on the market. Joe Kelly was the listing agent. I would give both Joe, and his assistant, Joanne Besterfield, the highest marks for getting us though the paperwork, photography, listing, showing and closing phases. Joe and Joanne truly compliment each other, in seamless fashion. Any home seller inevitably hears: "You only have to sell it once," but the truth is that you can sell it many times, and still go nowhere. Without a closing, there's a tailspin of house cleaning, showings, endless negotiations, inspections, calls to the lawyer and sleepless nights. This was our second attempt at selling our place. The first time, took place over a one hundred-day period summer to fall, 2018. This other agent was not as well qualified in his marketing efforts. Our home was clean and all mechanical systems were in good shape. It was an end unit on a very quiet cul-de-sac in pricey Naperville District 203. Despite some very rocky times with goofy buyers, incompetent and inconsistent inspectors and accompanying less-than-professional showing agents, we managed to get the finish line, mercifully closing on July 30, 2019. Joe and Joanne were very good at keeping us informed on every development. Joe was exemplary about being aggressive in finding new potential buyers. The first two sales fell through for reasons of buyer financing and contingencies complications. Sadly, the disconnected fantasy culture of HGTV has created a corpus of buyers with unrealistic expectations about what it's like to purchase a home that is not new. These attitudes seem to prevail in an affluenza-infused bubble like Naperville. Joe was helpful in managing our understanding of what happens once buyers walk through the front door. It can be like a reality show that one can't turn off.Chicagoland has thousands upon thousands of realtors. Many of these realtors don't even sell one property in a year's time. It's not that difficult to obtain a license in six weeks, and it's a tough business that requires solid knowledge and skills practice. Most of them do not have the wherewithal to assist people with one of the most momentous lifestyle and economic transitions of adulthood.Joe Kelly and Joanne Besterfield certainly rise well above this. They're certainly worth your consideration.
